Living Systems Instrumentation designs, develops and manufactures instruments for in vitro research studies of pressurised, perfused, cannulated blood vessels. The LSI product range includes vessel chambers and support equipment for measurement and control of pressure, flow rate and vessel dimensions. LSI also provide a wide range of general laboratory equipment from dissection dishes to computers.

Vessel Chambers

Our vessel chambers are precision machined from inert plastic that has chemical and physical properties superior to acrylics and is more economical than stainless steel.

CH-1 Single Vessel Chamber

The CH-1 is the most versatile chamber design, ideal for experiments requiring measurement of vessel dimensions. Suitable for use in widefield and confocal fluorescence microscopy or standard transmitted light microscopy, allowing visualisation of blood vessels as small as 30 µm.

CH-2 Dual Vessel Chamber

The CH-2 chamber is used to optimise experimental throughput, allowing two vessels to be mounted side by side. The dual chamber is ideal for bioassay work where perfusate from one vessel is routed to the adjacent vessel. Suitable for visualisation of blood vessels as small as 30 µm.

CH-1-LIN Linear Alignment Vessel Chamber

Our latest design for our arteriograph line, we have incorporated three-axis (X-Y-Z) linear controls on both the proxial and distal cannulae arms, facilitating simple alignment using thumb screws. The chamber is ideal for users of pressure arteriographs.

Pressure Measurement & Control

Applying and maintaining physiological pressures in cannulated blood vessels is a key factor in vascular research, precise control of pressure, with or without intraluminal flow, is essential. LSI pressure instrumentation is designed to establish, control and measure intraluminal pressure during an experiment.

PM-4 Perfusion Pressure Monitor

Ideally suited for isolated, perfused vessel studies, ensuring that a perfused vessel is exposed to a desired physiological pressure. Used in conjunction with the PS-200 pressure servo controller a transmural vessel pressure or a perfusion pressure can be maintained during perfusion.

PS-200 Pressure Servo Controller with Peristaltic Pump

The pressure servo controller with peristaltic pump is used to precisely control the intravascular pressure in isolated cannulated blood vessels. Suitable for many other uses, including maintaining pressure in isolated organ beds, gastrointestinal tissue, urinary tract or lymphatic tissues.

PM-P-1 Portable Pressure Monitor

The PM-P-1 is designed to accurately monitor and subsequently record any single physiological pressure. It is ideal for use in many settings and requires no electrical supply. It features an analog voltage output that can be recorded on a data acquisition system and comes equipped with long life batteries. A PT-F Pressure Transducer is included.

PT-F Pressure Transducer

The PF_F Pressure Transducer is designed to be used with the PM-4 Perfusion Pressure Monitor, PS-200 Pressure Servo Controller and PM-P-1 Portable Pressure Monitor.

The transducers are built with convenient luer style connector ports that facilitate plumbing into a perfusion flow path.

Pressure Transducer Calibration Kit

The calibration kit contains a manometer, stopcock and a luer connector for easy connection to the pressure transducer for calibration. The manometer reads in mmHg. A conversion table with uits of cmH2O is included for reference.

Flow

Pumps and support equipment for experiments requiring various flow conditions.

FC Flow Control Peristaltic Pump

The FC miniature peristaltic pumpdelivers precise flow rates over a range determined by the setting of two calibrated rotary controls and the tube size. It is similar to the pump used in the prssure servo control unit (PS-200).

SP-4CH-IT Four Channel Superfusion Peristaltic Pump

Ideal for vessel superfusion, this pump features four flow heads allowing flexible configurations.

Use INFLOW-IT-44-PKG4 tubing for inflow, use OUTFLOW-IT-48-PKG4 tubing for outflow.

SP-2C-IT Two Channel Superfusion Peristaltic Pump

Ideal for vessel superfusion, this pump features two flow heads, one for delivering solution to the bath (Inflow) and one for removing fluid (Outflow).

Use INFLOW-IT-44-PKG4 tubing for inflow, use OUTFLOW-IT-48-PKG4 tubing for outflow.

FI-1 Flow Indicator

The FI-1 provides a digital readout of the flow rate delivered by the FC flow control pump or the PS-200 pressure servo controlled pump. Flow rate can be monitored directly on the front panel display or using the analog voltage output signal.

FC-S Stand for FC Pump

This is a convenient mount for the FC Flow Control pump. It contains a ring stand with a special adapter that attaches to the housing of the pump.

Dissection

DD-90-S-BLK Dissection Dish, Large, Black

High quality Pyrex glass dissection dish. Lined with several millimeters of Sylgard® material, the perfect medium for pinning tissue specimens during delicate dissection procedures. The dishes can be autoclaved and will withstand many months of regular usage.

HAR-PETRIE-COVER Petrie Dish Cover

Clear Pyrex cover for DD-90 and DD-50 dishes. Beaded edges to provide greater mechanical strength. Not affected chemically or thermally by any common methods of sterilisation. Bottom shave a triangular enamel reference point for serial dilutions.
